Description

The story:

I made this photograph on a calm evening by the sea. I remember standing there as the sun slipped below the horizon, watching the colors fade from vivid orange to gentle lavender. There was no wind, no waves – just a perfect hush. That quiet simplicity was exactly what I wanted to capture.

Hitherto is about that subtle boundary, the moment where day concedes to night without protest. The gradient of colors felt like a meditation: soft, deliberate, inevitable. I framed the scene to be as minimal as possible, so that nothing would distract from the meeting of sea, sky, and the last trace of the sun.

For me, this image is an invitation to pause. It’s a small reminder that endings don’t always have to be loud or painful. Sometimes they can be gentle, even beautiful leaving behind color and promise for what comes next.
