The story:
I remember the silence first. The kind that settles deep into your chest when the world holds its breath. Standing in the open field in Góry Stołowe, I watched the sky gather weight: thick, rolling clouds pressing low, as if they wanted to touch the earth. Through the infrared lens, the scene transformed into something otherworldly. The trees glowed pale, almost ghostlike, as if lit from within. What my eyes saw and what the camera revealed were two different worlds overlapping for just a moment.
I waited.
Light broke through a narrow gap in the clouds, spilling across the field like a quiet spotlight. It touched the trees one by one, separating them from the darkness behind. For a brief second, they stood alone, fragile, luminous, almost human in their stillness.
I pressed the shutter.
The wind moved just after, shadows shifted, and the moment dissolved back into grey. But I knew I had captured something rare not just a landscape, but a feeling. A quiet tension between light and storm, presence and disappearance.
